ENCIRCLED YONGZHENG SIX-CHARACTER MARKS AND OF THE PERIOD

Each finely potted with deep rounded sides, the exterior delicately painted and enamelled with alternating lotus blooms and formal foliate motifs, the interior with a further formal roundel, all within double line borders (minute rim glaze chip)--4in. (10.2cm.) diam., box (2)

Lot Essay

Doucai bowls of this pattern appear to be quite rare. A related scrollwork design in wucai enamels on a Daoguang bowl from the Simon Kwan Collection, is illustrated in Imperial Porcleain of Late Qing, Catalogue, no. 27, and was exhibited at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1983
