The skirted plinth enhanced with lacquered pastoral scene of nobleman being served food by his attendants, the sides of the plinth and trunk similarly lacquered with flowering boughs, birds and figures, with mirrored door with moulded arch, the hood with plain columns flanking the arched door, supporting pierced frieze and cornice below caddy top, the dial signed Jno Martin London, with silvered boss in the arch engraved with the sun flanked by sea monster spandrels, with silvered chapter ring enclosing seconds ring, date aperture and ringed winding holes in the engraved and matted center, crown and cherub spandrels, the altered three-train movement with anchor escapement, striking the hour on bell by means of inside countwheel, chiming the quarters on eight bells -- in.
