CASTELLI, 18TH CENTURY, ATTRIBUTED TO CARLO ANTONIO GRUE

Painted in shades of yellow, blue, green, ochre with Christ blessing an adulteress by the banks of a river, a town in the background, the reverse inscribed in red with Sackler number 79.6.30 (minor chips to the edges, shadows of rectangular lables, the reverse with test drill holes)--10¼ x 13in. (26 x 33cm.)

Sold with thermoluminescence certificate 381u96 dated May 1986 from the Research Laboratory for Archaeology and the History of Art, Oxford University, stating that the sample tested was last fired between 220 and 340 years ago (1646-1766).
