The oval shakudo plate carved with gourd leaves and inlaid with a silver gourd, and gold, silver and copper tendrils, two pierced gourds and three dots of dew, the reverse with carved leaves and gold, silver and copper tendrils, the edge carved to resemble a thin rim cover--7cm. high, 6.5cm. wide, 3.75mm. thick at center, 2mm. thick at edge

This tsuba is the sho (smaller) to the dai (larger) tsuba illustrated in Hon'ami Kohaku, Umetada Meikan, Oshigata Shu (zen), (Tokyo: Yuzankaku, 1968), no. 4 (color).
