Woven in wools and silks, depicting the meeting of two generals, shown in full armour and mounted upon their steeds, with a further general in attendance, in an extensive landscape with a tented camp in the foreground and with trees and hills beyond, the border woven with floral sprays on a brown ground and centred to each side by a foliate strapwork cartouche, a beed-and-reel outer border with blue slip, cuts, restorations and areas of re-weaving, the upper and lower borders associated, now on a batten frame
