Lot Essay

The 'Bambi' is perhaps Sipek's most whimsical design. With its apparent structural instability and frail form, the design deliberately defies convention and in particular, traditional notions of stable seating. Sipek considers it 'primitive' to regard functionalism as the most important element of design and the form and materials of his 'Bambi' chair underscores this belief.
