manuscript on cream paper, 162ff. plus two flyleaves, each with 19ll. of flowing black naskh, punctuation in red, gold rosettes between verses, gold margins between black rules, blue outer rule, illuminated margins medallions marking the divisions of text, cartouche above, the first 131ff. containing the sura name in red, sura headings in red on gold cartouches in illuminated panels, gold outer margin, (very light smudging and staining), gold and polychrome illuminated opening folio (small areas of repainting), final folio with colophon signed by Muhammad Hasan al-Khawansari and dated 1251 (date smudged), brown lacquer binding painted with a narcissus spray and other flowers within gold border, red lacquer doublures with gold and black border, (slight crackelure, small repairs to edges)
