Paris, 1775, with the charge and discharge marks of Jean-Baptiste Fouache, four-lettered maker's mark indistinct, the miniature later
Oval box, the cover, sides and base inset with translucent blue glass panels on engine-turned vertical coin-pattern foil grounds, the lid applied with an oval glazed miniature of a young lady wearing a pink Louis XVI-style dress with flowers at her corsage and in her powdered upswept hair, the matted gold borders chased with a ribbon-twist band, the four matted side dividers chased with husks
