A South German walnut, ash, burrwood and fruitwood serpentine commode, inlaid overall with strap-work scrolls and flowers, the moulded top centred by a floral tablet, above four graduated long drawers, the lowest inlaid with two birds of Paradise, and panels to the sides with birds and branches, on bun feet, formerly with side carrying handles, restorations to veneers, mid 18th century and later -- 48in. (122cm.) wide, 28in. (71cm.) deep, 39in. (99cm.) high.
