TWO CYPRIOT RED-ON-BLACK PAINTED WARE VESSELS
MIDDLE BRONZE AGE, 1725-1650 B.C.
Comprising a flat-bottomed jug with wide cylindrical neck and everted rim, the flattened strap handle with thumb-grip lug at join with rim, decorated in red with encircling bands of multiple lines, separated on the neck by diagonal stripes of transverse strokes, multi-linear vertical groups around the shoulder, repaired; and a juglet with spherical body and tall cylindrical spout with everted, single handle, similar red painted multi-linear decoration
10½ in. (26.6 cm.) and 8 in. (20.5 cm.) high respectively (2)
