Details
"GLENROWAN STATION & JONES HOTEL". Burman print of James Bray original.

A crowd of plainclothes police and civilians pose on the railway platform in front of the station building with the besieged Glenrowan Inn in the background. Fifth from left is Father Matthew Gibney, later to make his heroic dash into the burning hotel (he arrived after midday, the hotel was torched about 3 p.m.). To the right of the group, men stand with their backs to the camera, looking at a seriously wounded Ned Kelly in the stationmaster's office. The ladder was used to provide some daring police or civilians with a rooftop vantage point.
