A HIGHLY UNUSUAL ENGLISH SILVER-MOUNTED AGATE-HANDLED HUNTING SWORD
Circa 1700 and later
With curved single-edged blade double-edged at the point (scattered rust and surface pitting), the hilt with fluted quillons each with stepped disc finial, the solid agate hilt (old repair) of 'beaked' form with engrailed silver mounts, surmounted by a silver button in the form of a recumbent spaniel, in its tooled leather scabbard, probably original (repaired at the throat), with silver mounts (chipped) including frog-hook
