A French gilt-brass striking carriage clock, circa 1890
The case of castle form with turrets to the angles, the painted porcelain dial decorated with a brickwork arch to the top and with a castle and drawbridge below, Arabic numerals and blued steel spade hands, the twin barrel movement with gilt platform to a lever escapement with bimetallic balance, strike on gong to the back plate stamped B, possibly for Brunelot -- 8in. (20cm.) high to hilt of handle
