SONG DYNASTY (960-1279)

With steep rounded sides rising from a small ring foot to a very slightly incurved mouth rim, covered with a thick glaze of even lavender-blue tone draining from the mouth and stopping in a line just short of the neatly pared edge of the foot, with a splash of glaze on the inside of the foot, the exposed stoneware body burnt reddish-brown in the firing
