A MEISSEN CHINOISERIE TEABOWL AND SAUCER
CIRCA 1730, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARKS, DREHER'S ** MARKS TO BOTH
Each side of the teabowl painted with Orientals on terraces with flowering shrubs and stylised fences above gilt scroll supports with red diaper panels, the interior with a border of gilt and iron-red diaper panels divided by purple, green and gilt flowerheads, the saucer with a finely dressed Oriental, raising a cloth to his red face, flanked by a flowering shrub and an escutcheon on a table and propped against a jardinière filled implements, on a similar support within a similar border (teabowl with small restored rim chip, centre of saucer with areas of very slight wear)
