A George III large ebonised and brass-mounted quarter-chiming table clock, circa 1780
The case with brass handle to inverted bell top, pineapple finials, two panels with side frets to each side, further frets to the rear door and to the brass-lined front door, on bracket feet, the brass dial with foliate spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, matted centre with date aperture and recessed silvered plaque signed Chas. Cabrier/London, blued steel hands, with strike/silent ring above, the eight day triple chain fusee movement with six pillars, now with anchor escapement, hour strike on bell and with quarter chimes on eight bells, trip repeat, the back plate engraved with entwined leafy scrolls around a vignette of an urn on a pedestal -- 20¾in.
