Painted after Rugendas with a continuous battle scene with soldiers duelling on horseback near an encampment by trees before a distant village, one firing a musket, above a double iron-red line border, the double-scroll handle with a gilt shell thumbpiece, the spout moulded with gilt foliage, the shallow-domed cover with two vignettes flanking a gilt bud finial within a similar double concentric circle border, the hinged mount with a foliate thumbpiece, the rim with foliage extending over the spout
