With gilt brass movement, cylinder escapement, chain fusée, pierced and engraved cock with decorative engraved foot, plain steel balance, silvered regulator disc, turned baluster pillars, quarter repeating via two steel hammers on a bell, white enamel dial with Roman numerals, Arabic five minute divisions, gold beetle and poker hands, pierced inner case engraved and decorated with scrolls, numbered near the pendant below an engraved countryside scene, opposite end with engraved mythical head, decoratively engraved top to the pendant, outer case with finely painted oval enamel scene to the back, depicting an aristocratic gentleman courting a beautiful lady in the grounds of his stately home, white enamel and gold accented border, outer border with translucent blue enamel on guilloché background accented by white enamel and gold decoration, the front and back rims pierced and decorated with green and white enamel accents interspersed with scrolling motifs, finely shaped five piece hinge, inside with casemakers stamp and English hallmarks, movement signed and numbered, inner case identially numbered, outer case stamped
