1927 SINGER SENIOR TWO SEATER ROADSTER
Registration No. HJ 6846
Chassis No. 14594
Engine No. D15427
Green with black wings
Engine: four cylinder, overhead valve, 1,571, 12hp; Gearbox: three speed manual; Suspension: front and rear, semi-elliptic leaf spring; Brakes: four wheel drum. Right hand drive
Sitting alongside 'JN 96' for a similarly lengthy period of hibernation has been this example of the larger-engined offering from Singer, the Senior.
This two seater version was originally delivered in 1927 and registered with the local county council on 24th June 1927. By 1947 when the continuation log book it retains was issued, the car belonged to Reginald Gray of Wickford, with whom it appears to have remained until 1959, after which it joined the collection.
Again, the Singer is predominantly complete, but much aged following years of barn storage. As a result of this it will require a careful and thorough rebuild to return it to the road, but when finished will provide a sporting British vintage car.
A modern V5 as well as the post-war buff log book accompany the Singer.
