The silvered dial signed Kelvin Bottomley & Baird Ltd. 18 & 18 Cambridge St. Glasgow, blued steel hands, up-and-down sector at XII (0-8) and seconds ring at VI further engraved Auxilliary compensation (red wax) and numbered 8159, the movement with spotted plates, main frame assembly with reversed fusee, barrel and centre wheel, subframe carrying the remainder of the train with Earnshaw-type spring detent escapement with jewelled locking stone, helical balance spring, cut bimetallic compensated balance with Poole's auxilliary, the frame stamped T. M. (Thomas Mercer) 8159, brass bowl numbered 8195, the three tier brass-bound box with later top lid, signed bone plaque to the centre section, recessed drop handles to the sides
