A George III Scottish mahogany longcase clock, late 18th/early 19th century
The architectural hood with dentil cornicing, glazed side panels and inset brass-capped columns, the 12 in. wide engraved and silvered dial with Roman and Arabic chapter ring, seconds ring to the centre above engraved vase centred by a square date aperture, with flowerheads to the winding holes, signed in the arch Geo Monro/EDINBURGH, the eight day movement with four pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell, replaced seatboard -- 86 in. (218.5 cm.) high
