A Lacquer Koshirae with Cloisonné Enamel Mounts
Edo period (18th century)
Comprising a saya lacquered in brownish-grey with black streaks and decorated with a gold hiramaki-e leaf on the lower half, and alternating roiro-nuri and aogai bands with a smaller gold-hiramaki-e leaf on the upper half, the kojiri, kurikata, extended koikuchi, tsuba and fuchi-kashira copper nanako-ji with scrolling flowers carved in relief and decorated with polychrome cloisonné enamels, the menuki branches of flowers designed in cloisonné enamels
