A COMPOSITE GEORGE IV IRISH SILVER TEA & COFFEE SET WITH KETTLE,
DIFFERENT MAKERS, DUBLIN, 1825,
Comprising a 3-piece teaset of compressed circular form, heavily chased with flowers around two cartouches, one engraved with crest of Lees, Bart., the other inscribed "Presented by the Revd. Sir Harcourt Lees Bart. to Lady Lees in testimony of the exalted opinion he entertains of her conduct & character in the relative situations of wife & mother", on mask, ball & claw feet, with caryatid handles & shaped floral rims, ivory spacers to handle of teapot & replacement triple flower finial, the spout with mask decoration & terminating in an eagle's head, a baluster coffee pot heavily chased with two eagles amidst scrolls, flowers & fruiting vines, similarly crested & inscribed, carved ivory handle & leaf-capped spout, replacement twin flower finial, and a kettle & stand with spirit lamp, of inverted pear shape with domed cover & bell-shaped finial, raffia-bound swing handle, richly chased with fruit & flowers & with scalloped spout, the stand on bifurcated scroll supports terminating in shell feet, the teaset by Edward Power, the coffee pot by James Le Bass & the kettle by William Nowlan, all retailed by William Law, 182.5 oz.
