Louis Brulefer, A Frenchman, was working in London at the end of the 17th Century. A clockmaking family of the same name was also working in Paris at this time.

A William and Mary red tortoiseshell and brass-mounted striking table clock with pull quarter repeat

The case with conjoined scroll and cherub handle to cushion-moulded top, foliate scroll mounts centred by female masks to the front door top rail and to the sides above glazed panels, front door with lock to the right and conforming escutcheon to the left, the moulded base on gilt-brass claw and bun feet, the 6¾ in. square brass dial with winged cherub mask spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with sword-hilt half hour markers, matted centre with ringed winding holes and engraving to the date aperture, restored/replaced blued steel hands, strike/not strike lever above XII, the eight day movement with five ringed pillars, secured to the case with a bolt through the lower pillar and with turn catches to the front, twin gut fusees, re-instated verge escapement, hour strike on bell and pull quarter repeat on three bells, also re-instated, the back plate elaborately engraved with thistles and flowers around a cartouche signed Louis Brulefer/Londres, replaced seatboard, restorations; case probably associated to dial and movement, circa 1695; crank key, case key
