A LARGE CHINESE CRACKLE GLAZE VASE, LATE 19TH CENTURY
resting on a tall flared foot with underglaze blue plaintain leaves on a pale blue crackle ground, the main body section of white crackle glaze flanked by two decorative panels, the lower carved with lion heads and the upper section with flower heads on a geometiric diaper ground, both with matt brown glaze emulating metal work, the over hanging shoulder decorated with moulded and applied ruyi lappets, and moulded lion head ring handles applied to the neck above a carved floral band also rendered in matt brown glaze, the rim with similarly decorated stylised ruyi heads, incised seal to the base -- 23¾in (59cm) high
