A pale celadon jade model of a melon, 18th 19th century
carved in the round as a lobed melon borne on a leafy vine, with the gnarled tendril forming a loop for suspension at the top, the large leaves with finely detailed spine and veins, the stone of an even white tone with amber tone inclusions cleverly applied to accentuate the leaf edges and the lower section of one lobe -- 1 7/8in. (4.7cm.) long.
