Maserati Tipo 60 "Birdcage" - The Rouen 1959 Winner driven by Stirling Moss
This is a rare opportunity to get a personally autographed 1:24th scale model of the Stirling Moss driven Maserati Tipo 60, hand built and remodeled in a serial numbered limited edition of only 25.
The model faithfully replicates the first racing Birdcage as driven by Moss
in its debut race which he and the car won. Stunningly finished with a hand rubbed paint finish it is highly detailed featuring numerous machined aluminum and photo etched parts down to the correct genuine hand laced brass wire wheels! Delicate detail can be seen everywhere from the fuse panel & cover to wiring behind the dash. Look through the back of the hood bulge and you can even see one of the carburetors with the velocity stacks.
This model has been extensively researched from numerous period photographs and includes such authentic detail as a low cut windscreen with small deflector in front of the driver as well as the small windshield wiper, placement of Maserati emblems, and many more small details. The model bears a plaque mounted to the underside which is personally autographed by Stirling Moss, additionally the display case bears a personally autographed plaque, (approximately 8 inches long).
