A Chinese famille rose barber's bowl, 18th century
of a deep oval form with a wide everted rim with a crescent shaped opening, the well decorated with a jardiniere with floral and fruit sprays, the rim with a peony and grapevine scroll flanked by a wave pattern enclosing a swirl diaper ground below a trellis diaper band, the undersides with lotus and peony sprays -- 14in. (35.5cm.) wide.
