CIRCA 1820, THE FIRST WITH BLUE CROSSED SWORDS AND I MARKS AND PRESSNUMMERN, THE SECOND WITH UNDERGLAZE BLUE SCEPTRE MARKS, PAINTER'S CIRCLE AND DASH MARKS
The first cup painted with a view of Leipzig named on the underside and within a rectangular gilt panel, the reverse with a band of gilt dot and looping arrow ornament below a border of pink hexagonal panels, on three gilt paw feet and with a scroll handle, the saucer gilt with radiating vine leaves about a star, the pink-ground border reserved with white hexagonal ornament against a garland, within gilt rims (very minor wear to gilding); the second painted with a view of Das Brandenburger Thor In Berlin, named in black script, with a gilt interior and rims (cup cracked with associated overpainting and slight wear) (2)
