Kitab sharh al-Magesti al-Mansub ila Batlamyus, 'A Commentary on Ptolemy's al-Magest was complied by Abu 'Ali Muhammad ibn al-Hassan ibn al-Haytham al-Basari, a philosopher, physician, mathematician and astrologer of the 10-11th century. He was born in Basra and worked in Baghdad. Another copy of the work is in Istanbul (T.K. 3329-2). For more information on the author and the work see B.A. Rosenfeld and E.
