Lot Essay

The text here is a Persian treatise on the Nada 'Ali quatrain. The colophon HAS been added at a later date and now reads: 'Mir 'Ali al-Katib wrote it [in] 860 (1455-56 AD)'. In the remains of the manuscript the hand appears 16th century and of extremely good quality.
For a further discussion on the calligrapher Mir 'Ali see the note for lot 187.
