A FAMILLE VERTE SQUARE 'LANDSCAPE' VASE
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
Of gently tapering form, enamelled on each side with dramatic mountainous riverscape scenes, including figures in conversation, another riding a mule, a fisherman steering a sampan, and retreats nestling amongst craggy rockwork, the flat shoulder with slightly arched corners enamelled with butterflies and floral sprigs, and the tall flaring neck with similar motifs, the unglazed underside with a small square white-glazed recess
