The bulbous koro of dark iron with gilded and inlaid flowers in gold, silver, and shakudo, with birds and flowers in two large, shaped panels with gilt edges and flanked on both sides with upright handles and on four feet in the shape of stylized warabi (bracken) also with gilt edges, the domed cover surmounted by a shishi finial with gilt eyes, teeth and ball, the separately cast stand of drum form with similar curled feet and with related shaped panels of plants; the interiors lined with silver
