Deeply carved on the front with a scene of five scholars gathered around a weiqi board within a rocky grotto surrounded by pine and wutong trees, the reverse carved with a deer shown recumbent on a rocky ledge, its head turned to look at a bat in flight above, the stone of pale greyish-green tone with some white and russet inclusions
