A PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE RECTANGULAR PLAQUE
18TH/19TH CENTURY
Carved on one side with a scene of a farmer and water buffalo plowing a field, with thatched huts in the distance, the other side carved with a scholar and his young attendant in a pavilion set amidst mountains and trees looking out at the approaching figure of a woman carrying a basket as she crosses a bridge over a nearby stream, the translucent stone of pale greenish-white tone with soft polish
