A NORTH ITALIAN (MILANESE) ETCHED 'SPANISH' MORION (CABASSET)
LATE 16TH CENTURY
Of one piece, with almond-shaped skull rising to a small stalk, the base of the skull pierced for a row of lining rivets (missing), and narrow brim with turned roped edge (skull holed, old repairs), the skull decorated with etched radiating bands including some containing foliage against a blackened granular ground, the brim decorated with a band of foliage
