Number 496 of the 'Luxus' edition of 1499 copies. Dali spent six years (1963-69) creating the original gouaches. This lengthy project was an artistic as well as intensely spiritual exercise to explore and return to the Catholic faith; the vibrant lithographs, infused with imagination and devotion, are the result of this pilgrimage. Dali's radiant, energetic images are combined with the traditional, crisp types of Aldus Manutius, balancing surrealist mysticism with renaissance rigour. FINE EXAMPLE, sold with certificate of authenticity. Michler-Löpsinger 1600.
