With trefid terminal, the bowl with rat-tail heighted with stylised flames, the stem chased with a cherub mask handle within foliage, engraved with initials 'MV' over 'MB' and dated '1678', marked on stem
7 5/8 in. (19.2 cm.) long

Provenance
Reverend Thomas Staniforth (1807-1887) of Storrs Hall, Windermere and then by descent to his great-nephew,
Edwin Wilfrid Stanyforth (1861-1939), of Kirk Hammerton Hall, co. York, born Greenwood, he took the name and arms of Stanyforth by Royal License in 1877.
