The rectangular box with rounded corners, decorated in gold and silver hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, togidashi-e and inlaid mother-of-pearl, silver and shakudo with the Eight Views of Lake Biwa (Omi hakkei), showing a bridge, pavilions and boats, fitted with a silver water dropper, ink stone, ink stick holder and two brushes; the writing table decorated en suite with chiseled silver fittings
Writing box: 8 ½ x 9 ½ x 1 ¾ in. (21.6 x 24.1 x 4.5 cm.)
