A GILT BRONZE SEATED FIGURE OF AVALOKITESHVARA
KOREA, JOSEON PERIOD, 17TH CENTURY
The figure is depicted seated in dhyanasana with hands held in dhyanamudra, dressed in a flowing dhoti and draped with a celestial scarf, with bands embellished with prunus to the ankle and wrists. The hair is finely incised and styled in a top knot behind a shou character plaque an a floral band.
