A military mounted katana with silk bound shagreen hilt, bronze tsuba and fuchi-kashira decorated in relief with flowers, gilt bronze menuki modelled as flowerheads applied with a silver mon, silver habaki and painted metal scabbard with leather sleeve -- the blade 26½in. (67.3cm) long, signed Ichi Monji Minamoto Amahide.
