A Victorian oak and mahogany longcase clock, second quarter 19th century
The hood with swan neck pediment and outset ringed baluster columns, with square top cross-banded trunk door centred by a lozenge inlay, above raised panel, with conforming inlay to the plinth on bracket feet, the 13½in. (34cm.) square white dial with painted spandrels depicting a church and a bridge, with subsidiary seconds ring and date aperture to the centre, rubbed signature for Griffith PENMACHNO, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 85in. (216cm.) high
