Inlaid overall with cross and feather-banding, the writing-slope enclosing a fitted interior with a central removable section containing a concave-fronted door inlaid on both sides with boxwood and ebony starbursts and enclosing a shelf, flanked by two pigeon-holes and two drawers to each side, concealing four secret drawers underneath and six to the reverse, flanked by two small drawers and two recesses to each side, the lower section with five small drawers and two long graduated drawers, the sides inlaid with boxwood and ebony banding, on a moulded plinth base and serpentine apron with bracket feet, restorations, the base apron and feet later
