The moulded rectangular double-hinged top enclosing to one side a compartmentalized interior, to the other a plain interior with removable modern backgammon set, inlaid with walnut and elm, containing thirty counters, dice within a portable mahogany case, above a spirally turned shaft running through a central rectangular stand with ebonized banding, on square channelled downswept legs, joined by an X-shaped stretcher, brass caps and castors, with remains of a printed paper depository label 'NCESTER/2117', restorations
