Album containing sixty-one cartes-de-visite, thirty-six hand-tinted, the majority with photographers' printed credits and titles on verso, loosely inserted in pre-cut window mounts with gilt borders, titled Egypt and with photographer's credit W. Hammerschmidt in pencil in a later hand on first page, g.e., disbound, loosely inserted in Indian boxwood and ivory binding, spine carved with motif of fruit and flowers (chipped), covers with ivory and mosaic borders and applied wood panels repeating the same pattern (borders slightly chipped), oblong 8vo.

Including water-carriers, a barber, a musician, men praying, women carrying baskets of fruit on their heads, a man smoking a water pipe and another chopping meat.
