with kiku finial and mask handles, painted and heavily gilt with shaped panels of Kannon and rakan in rocky landscapes, Tennin in flight and boy attendants in interiors, all on a geometric pattern ground -- 3¾in. (9.5cm.) high, signed Satsuma-yaki, Taizan zo; and a tapering vase with square neck, decorated with scenes of figures at leisure on riverbanks, on a drak blue ground reserved with hanging flowers -- 5¾in. (14.5cm.) high, sealed Kinkozan, (minor enamel and gilt rubbing).
