Of rectangular form, the Belgian black marble inlaid with a verde antico slip, the field elaborately inlaid with scrolling foliate and floral motifs incorporating peaches, apples, pears flowers and leaves including roses, cornflowers, peonies of giallo di Siena, jaspers, onyx, glass, chalcedony and others, the centre of the field inlaid with a ribbon of lapis lazuli and a chain of pearls, in an associated parcel-gilt and ebonised frame
