Christiane Paul, Curator of Digital Art at the Whitney Musuem of American Art, describes digital art as art that ‘explores digital technologies as a medium by making use of its key features, such as its real-time, interactive, participatory, generative, and variable characteristics, or by reflecting upon the nature and impact of digital technologies. It goes beyond using technology merely as a tool for creation, instead integrating the technology as a fundamental part of the medium.’
