  • Event location New York
The art of Roni Horn, Caroline Walker, Ulala Imai and Flora Yukhnovich will be offered to benefit the Clooney Foundation for Justice, whose mission is to defend free speech, women’s rights and equality before the law around the world.

Proceeds from these sales will help provide free legal aid to journalists, women, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community facing persecution and discrimination. Through its global network of lawyers and advocates, the Foundation has helped secure the release of dozens of unjustly imprisoned journalists and enabled thousands of women to defend their rights in court.

The works will be presented in our Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale in New York on 20 November and through Christie’s Private Sales.

Rachael earned a Masters of Fine Arts from the Sotheby’s Institute in London in 2012. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and European Studies from Vanderbilt University, with a Minor in History of Art, graduating in 2009. BFA / Clooney Foundation for Justice

The Clooney Foundation for Justice wages justice by providing free legal aid in defense of free speech and women’s rights in over 40 countries. CFJ’s work has led to dozens of journalists being set free and thousands of women receiving free legal support to defend their rights.

Trial Watch provides free legal aid to journalists who are unfairly imprisoned to secure their release and uphold freedom of speech. It is the first initiative that monitors criminal trials globally, exposing unfair trials and challenging laws that are weaponized against free speech. The initiative has freed dozens of journalists and advocates facing sham charges and unjust prison sentences.

Waging Justice for Women provides free legal aid to women and girls to defend their rights, including their right to be free from child marriage, violence and discrimination. With our partners across Africa, we operate legal aid clinics to provide free legal support to women, challenge unjust laws through the courts, and mentor the next generation of justice champions through an annual fellowship for young women lawyers. In its first two years, WJW has provided free legal services to more than 6,000 women and girls and represented women for free in hundreds of cases in court.
