A late 19th-Century mahogany 'Portable Domestic Medical Cabinet' with drop down front,
of trunk style, with red velvet lining throughout and cardboard wallet on interior of lid, the chest fitted at the front to house fourteen bottles with ground stoppers and paper content labels (one missing, one replaced) and a seperate mahogany case in the centre fitted to contain five small jars with white-metal lids and paper content labels, a glass pill-tile, an handheld apothecary balance and weights, glass measures and other items, the case with brass recessed handle and escutcheon and key -- 14 x 20.6 x 16.1cm. (5½ x 8 1/8 x 6 3/8in.).
